Freecycle | Main | All I Want for Christmas Is... November 22, 2004Hunter KillingsMan oh man. This morning I heard about the hunters killed in Wisconsin. A deer hunter trespassing in a private hunting stand opened fire on a group of Wisconsin hunters after being told to leave, resulting in one of the deadliest sprees in the state's history, police said Monday. Hits close to home, since I'm in Wisconsin. My husband is thinking that they'll probably have him (the shooter) out at his work, since talk around town is that he's a bit... touched. We'll see. I feel terrible for the victim's families, though.

The deer hunter trespassing in a private hunting stand opening fire on a group of Wisconsin hunters was being chased by uncounted number of hunters. So what's the problem, what would you do?
What the news should note is the fact that the trespassing hunter was using an assult wepon with a clip of 20. I guess an NARA member paid dues to sway our leaders that this is one of our rights.
Or do you need a clip of 20 to take down a deer?
The important point to remember is how one man took out so many hunters, Is this why most law officers are against assult wepons?

One wonders if we'll ever get a satisfactorily clear picture of what happened there that day. But one thing seems pretty clear: this guy is gonna do some serious time.
A semi-xenophobic conservative at my wife's work was expressing her displeasure at the fact that "these people" aren't "screened" before being issued hunting licenses. My wife offered the suggestion that perhaps we should screen people before selling them the assault rifles.
