Lo-Carb Clam Dip

I made this low-carb clam dip tonight. I had wanted to make a different recipe, but had no cream cheese, so settled on this one:

. . .

Sour Cream Clam Dip

1 (8 oz.) container sour cream
1 (7 oz.) can chopped clams (drain, reserving 1T. juice)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 T. chopped onion
1 T. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. celery seed
Salt and pepper to taste

1. Combine all ingredients, mix well and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.

. . .

I tasted this right after making it and was leery. But after putting it in the fridge for a bit it was actually pretty good. We had it with chips. It is a little on the runny side, but the flavor is good.

Drawings

Here's some art from my sons:

Our house, made by one of the twins who is 5 (I told him I wish our house were that cool)

Our cats (one really is much larger than the other)

And Spiderman, from the 7 year old

My fridge is covered with art work. We keep the kid's stuff in those plastic bins (we've saved a LOT), but man, we're going to need to take out storage for it all. Maybe I'll just start taking pictures of them, or scanning them and keeping it on digital.

Making Cookies

I had meant to get so many more cookies done, but now have little desire to make more. The kids and I did make some cookie cutter ones (click picture for link), but man... I'm cookied out!!

Cookied out? Nawwww.

Sippin' the Nog

I was searching for eggnog recipes, even though at this moment I have no intention of making any.

I do have intentions of drinking it, though. Eggnog and rum. Yum. I never liked 'nog when I was a kid. I remember, as a teen, my then boyfriend's friend would buy it by the quart and drink it right out of the container.

I don't like it that much. But I do like it enough to have a couple glasses. Does anyone make this stuff from scratch?

Skinny Simpson and Lohan

Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan. Has anyone checked out this week's (month?) issue of In Touch? Goodness. They really are getting pretty thin. What is up with that? Wowzy.

Freaking MT Comment SPAM

Gosh, I'm just sick of MT comment spam. It is just disgusting. Now I've got this TypeKey thing on here as a last ditch effort. I tried to install MT blacklist and it was a pain. Sadly, I couldn't get it to work. And now my comments are all messed up so that I can not even view them in the admin screen.

I'm frustrated. I can't believe there isn't an easier way. Like, why can't you ban people by their name? If you can search for them by name, why not ban them by name? Or something. I don't know, but it is such a pain.

I'm thinking I'll try Haloscan or something.

Autumnal Fire. One of the best beers I've ever had. I'm drinking the last one from the fridge and boy I think I should stock up on it. Yum.

Treasure in the Trash

Look what I found in the trash -

(click for larger)

I was backing out of church and saw it in my rearview mirror. What a thrill. I didn't have to clean it up, paint it or anything. I even went to the door to make sure they wanted to get rid of it. I just couldn't believe it. The guy was kind enough to help me load it in the van. What an awesome find.

Rolo Cookies

OK, so at the craft fair this weekend, I was told that I absolutely needed to try these cookies with a Rolo baked into it. I tried to resist, but for a buck? I bought a bag.

Oh. Man. Were they good. Naturally, I came home, polished off the last of the cookies in the bag and Googled Rolo Cookies. Here's one recipe. There are others, but they are all pretty similar. I'm going to have to pick up some of these come payday/grocery shopping day and try whipping some up.
