Early Riser

Being that it is summer vacation, I haven't had much time to just spend by myself. Those "alone times" are usually spent doing housework, catching up on things, reading, soaping or whatever. With the kids home I don't have much time to do any of that. Or I can try and clean, but they keep up with my cleaning by creating more mess.

So I thought I'd wake up a little early this morning, ahead of the kids, and get in some ME time. Like when they were in school and I'd get them all off to school, sit down, read my mail, have some coffee. I truly was a less irritable person with a little ME time.

But, of coarse, the thunder woke up one of the kids who came racing out within seconds of me wandering into the quiet, empty livingroom. After a bit I made some breakfast for us two and wouldn't ya know it, the second I sit down to eat, here comes the twins. Yammering and asking question after question (one of the twins is a morning person who wakes up charged).

So much for my early morning rising. I'm not a morning person to begin with, and if my getting up early just wakes the kids up earlier when I'm not ready to be awake... kind of defeats the point. Guess my ME time needs to be spent sleeping? Ha.
