This is kind of interesting. A list of the The World's Healthiest Foods. You can click on each one to get more information. I'm always looking for little ways to make our diet healthier. Especially if it is easy. It is good to see many our staple food items on that list.
I've been on a soaping spree and I love it. Well, not really loving it. But kind of yeah. I love mixing and cutting but hate the measuring, math and precautions (not to mention CLEAN UP) that goes along with it. Lye scares the crap outta me.
But anyway, here's some recent batches:
Lavender
Oatmeal, Milk and Honey
Little Bo Peep (made with whey from my cheesemaking)
Here's a recipe for Baked Oatmeal, otherwise known as Oatmeal Pie. I found this recipe years ago when on Weight Watchers and loved it so much that it is a staple in our house. But now when I make it, I add flax seeds and if I have some Grape Nuts, I throw a handful of those in, too. You can get all kinds of crazy with this recipe. Since I'm more low-carb than Points now, I also just use whole eggs (so in recipe below I'd use probably 1 whole egg). You can sub some SF vanilla syrup for some of the milk and leave out the extract... like I said. Be creative.
Oh yeah, and here's the recipe:
Ingredients
DIRECTIONS:
Oven 325
Combine dry ingredients and add wet ingredients. Pour into pie dish that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. Bake about 25 min. Let cool, eat or store in fridge/freezer.
NOTE: I have also made this recipe ahead by combining the dry stuff, putting it in a container and then doing the wet stuff in a seperate container, then combining it in the morning and baking it
quick for the kids to eat before school. It works great.
POINTS:
Points per serving: 5
Serves: 4
**You can also cut the pie into 8 pieces, yielding wedges that are 2.5 Points each. Also, if you omit the raisins,
you can take off 4 more points. But, as a whole, they don't add too many points.

I had him cartwheel, moonwalk, dance, touch his beak. He was a good chicken.

Dang them. Dang them and their Diet Black Cherry Vanilla Coke.
A long addiction to the liquid crack that is Diet Coke led me to finally cutting back to small doses of the soda on occasion. I started drinking more diet Sprite. No dyes, you know, just a better choice as far as soda is concerned.
And then along comes this baby. Momma like. Momma like lots. Sigh...
I will allow myself to sip on its sweet, sweet goodness for a bit. I will. This version is so much better than the Dr. Pepper version of the Black Cherry Vanilla. Although I still like me some Diet Coke. Can't help that.
And Diet Coke from a Mc Donald's gun? We don't even need to go there. That's super charged liquid crack. I sure hope they don't get this BCVDC on the gun at Mc D's, 'cause then there's just no telling what I might do.
