Knitted Pig
I'm still working on that knitted pig. I made a lot of progress today, regardless that my kids are very, very interested in the fact that I'm making a pig. They gather around me and watch, awe-stricken. They've already got their requests in for a monkey and a snake. But, I tell them, "Let's just see if mommie can finish the pig first, okay?" Here's some progress pictures. Body and body with one leg. I'm not sure if my pig will be able to stand, but who knows. Maybe it will turn out better than I think. The instructions are pretty easy, but sometimes slightly vague (the snout was vague, for instance). And as far as sewing stuff together, I don't know the names of the stiches and I tend to just sew it up as I see fit. But, I'm happy to say that I did NOT increase my yarn stash with this pig, but rather decreased it. I vowed not to go out and buy yarn specifically to make it, but to use up some of my ever increasing stash. I also used up some old pillow stuffing for inside the pig. Feels good to stick to my guns and be frugal for once. Posted by Groovy Mom at July 14, 2002 07:33 PM |
