Craft Moms. Go check it out. Looks like it could be interesting. It's brand new.
Aha!! So, I'm not the only one who was lured to Hobby Lobby for the 1/2 off stamps!! Mel was sucked in, too.
I finally made it there, today, making a very quick run inside while my husband sat in the van with the kids. They didn't have the best selection, really, which I anticipated. It was pretty picked over. However, they had gotten a new shipment in and said they should have the stamps out before the sale ends this weekend.
They better. I'll be back, dammit.
I got this Susan Branch stamp set and a mailbox stamp for 12 bucks. Man. I could go crazy up in that store.
Momma wants this yarn. Yes, yes, she does. Too bad she's broke, though.
I added a "Search" feature to the site, here and I think (cross fingers) it's working alright. Woohoo!!
I love all the questions I am getting in my comments, but I don't always notice the comments in the OLDER entries. So, if you have a question for me (and I'll try to help, if I can) please use the contact button up there. There's a better chance that I will be able to answer your questions.
One of the questions I was asked was how to make homemade paper. Here's a few links that will answer your question, hopefully:

Hope that helps!!
Please, Judy, don't take down your knitting page!! I love it.
Hmmm. I'm not in the process of making anything. Partly, because I'm broke. But partly because I don't know where to begin, I guess. I have many requests in for the knitted toys, but I'd really like to make a sweater, or something. We'll see...
Nevermind. Found the lemon lime Kool-Aid seeker right here.
Grrrr. I was surfing knitting blogs and came across a person's who was looking for lime-green Kool-Aid, and couldn't find it in her area. I commented and told her that I thought we had it and would be happy to send some.
Of coarse. I forgot who that was. Now I'm sitting on 5 packs of Kool-Aid (I found them at the store!!) If it's you, tell me, please!!
In search for an interesting tart burner, I happened upon this cool Craftmaking Supply Products site. They've got TONS of stuff. I don't have too much time to browse now, but will be back later.
I love to go here and shop. It's a local craft market, where people rent out booths and show off their stuff. I bought a cute planter, pot holder and some lavendar oil from there the other day. And, I picked up some great ideas!!
Here I had hoped that our 5 hour drive up North (and back) would allow me to have hours upon hours of knitting and book reading pleasure. But, (BUT!!) when you're driving in a non airconditioned van in 90 degree heat, the yarn tends to get a little sticky in the paws. So, not much knitting gets done.
And to ease my pain, I slept as much as possible. So, not much reading got done, either.
I checked out some books from the library a week or so ago. I got 2 of the Vogue Knitting on the Go books, hoping to find some chic (but easy) patterns. I put little sticky notes on the pages I wanted to copy off at the copy shop, but then, being the scatter-brain I am, I returned those books along with the rest of my returns.
Duh.
Anyway, so now I have the books Toddler Knits and Bags and Backpacks, plus Scarves. They are little books, with about 20 or so patterns. I pretty much sticky-noted the ones labeled "Easy" and left it at that. I'd really like to know how to make a drawstring bag, though. And those projects were mostly "intermediate" or "experienced." Ach, someday...I mainly wanted the Toddler Knits back because there's an "easy" pattern for a toddler striped cardigan pullover that I want to try for the twins.
At least I have some patterns to use on our trip we'll be taking this week. (As long as I remember to copy the damn things off, of coarse) Long drives allow many hours of knitting and reading. And sleeping.
Boy, oh boy. I've been so caught up in that darn Outlander book that I haven't touched yarn in a few days. I've been thumbing through books of all sorts of crafty stuff, but besides lamely making pudding popsicles for/with the kids...does that count?
I had to go out and buy another skein of yarn for the boa. Luckily they had more of the same, though. My son keeps telling me that it's "dusty." I think he's not fond of the texture.
I seriously, srsssly need to get away from my kids, out of this house into a peacefull world and knit for just about 5 hours and I'll be brand spanking new and mentally sound again.
These kids are driving me apeshit. I keep a binder of all the patterns I dl from the 'net, right. Well, after I print out the patterns, I have to 3-hole punch them and put them in their correct categories in my binder. I've printed out a handfull more, but can't put them in my binder because...my kids STOLE my 3-hole punch and lack the memory skills to find it for me. a;sdlkf;pqioh!!*#&!
I'm a roadblock, not knowing what to make next. My choices are (kind of) :
1.) Start a sock project using dpn's (first time)
2.) Another freaking dishcloth
3.) Some "hair things" (headband, twisties)
4.) Some other semi-challenging pattern
Ahh, the choices are endless. Need to decide. Although, I think today will be taken up with some gardening.
I made another hat today. My husband wanted me to make him a brown cap, one of those tight-fitting ones...can't think of the name right now. My mind is too tired and burnt out...can't think...Anyway, it was about an inch too short. So, I go from making one that's too big, to too small. I didn't take a picture of this one. Not because I'm ashamed, but because I'm tired. Oh, skullcap. That's it.
Aha!! I'm not the only one who noticed Kristen knitting on Frontier House. I thought it was so cool. I had been thinking how cool and handy I would be, being a knitter and all. I could show off and make (coasters? dishcloths? preemie hats?) stuff. Nahnahnah.
Well, hello. This is my new weblog to post my crafty creations. It's not entirely done yet, but I'll just keep adding and re-tooling as I see fit. I can't wait for everything to be in place before I start sharing my crafts. It's just too darn hard.
