That is just sick beyond all words! Sick and sad. I never understood anyone choosing abortion and I really don't understand the choice now. That is awful.

I know what a partial birth abortion is. I'm still pro choice.I belive a womans body is her own, to do with as she chooses. A woman, in most cases, doesn't enter into and abortion lightly, and is informed of what will take place during the procedure. It isn't a disision made lightly, and it isn't an easy decision. Its a very personnal descision, and one that a woman will remember for the rest of her life. I personally wouldn't be able to do it. But I'm pro choice, because, if a woman decides to abort, she will be living with the decision for the rest of her life, and thats enough of a consequence for me.
I really hate thias whole issue, women's health, and womens rights, being turned into a politcal issue. Its like women are being treated like chattel again, oppression that was so hard faught against by our forbears. Gee Dub has a mentality, in my opinion, of, "If I say this, do this, act like this, I'll control the women." not as a people, but as property. "It will reinforvce my position, because It doesn't really mnatter. People like it when you take a stance and stick with it."

I mainly put that up as a news blurb. But, also to inform. I knew that there were steps to ban PBA, but didn't know what was going on with that. I think it's good to know what you're talking about, and to be able to know visually, when you're making a decision about something.
There are a lot of women (and men for that matter), who really have no clue about abortion and figure it to be just one of those "women things."

I wrote something about this a few entries ago in my blog...
. I almost had a late term abortion...a saline abortion, not partial birth...not by my choice. They're both barbaric as far as I'm concerned BUT it does concern me that this ban will set a precendent for furthur anti-abortion laws to be made and set back women's reproductive rights.

Of course the drawing doesn't show a fetus with its brain growing outside the skull & the skull full of liquid...one main reason that women opt for having an abortion in the later terms of her pregnancy.

I was going to write "the rest of the story" and I was too emotionally drained. Maybe someday...

Please, for the love of pete, someone inform as to why this type of abortion would be ok, in any instance. I want to hear both sides (even tho I will never change my mind about how awful an abortion is). I do believe that a woman has a right to choose what for her own body, but once you become pregnant, it's not just your life, it's the life of a child. How can anyone take that life away? I can see some reasoning for it in the case of an obvious defect like the one mentioned above. But any other reasons, I don't get it. Especially in such a late term baby.

Try to see the bigger picutre. It all ties into the fact that women need education, healthcare, birth control, prenatal care and the support of society. If a woman is uninformed, poor, drug additcted, alone, beaten, lost, depressed, too young, or whatever variation of not fitting into the middle and upper class, white, capitalist society--a woman may find herself in a frightening position. I am damn lucky to know how to take care of myself, have a family that loves and supports me, I have money and security, I am smart and well educated. I do not consider myself the standard for which we should all be held. When women in this country are respected and educated I think we will find less of a need for any kind of abortion.

I only have to say to all you people that believe that its a woman's choice, because it is her body, FIRST OF ALL IT ISN'T HER BODY, GOD IS ONLY LOANING IT TO HER. When a woman has an abortion she is killing god's child. Believe me I have had three children and I was very young with my first one but I didn't even consider abortion. What about all them people out there that can't have kids, There is a thing called adoption.SO BEFORE YOU THINK IT'S A WOMAN'S RIGHT THEN GET ON YOUR KNEES AND PRAY AND GOD WILL TELL YOU DIFFERENT.HE WILL PLEAD PLEASE DON'T KILL MY CHILD, THE ONE I HAVE LOANED TO YOU TO TAKE CARE. AND REMEMBER BEFORE YOU GET PREGNANT THAT CHILD CHOSE YOU TO BE HIS/HER MOTHER FOR YOU TO RAISE NOT TO KILL. PLEASE RECONSIDER THE PRO CHOICE OPTION??????????
