Michael Jackson - Yes. Weird.

Jacko's MTV 'award' all a misunderstanding... Michael Jackson was left embarrassed after he proudly accepted a non-existent award in front of millions of TV viewers.

Just another testament to the freakishness that is Michael. He's brought on stage to get birthday props, Brit-Brit says he should be "Artist of the Millennium" and he takes it as a literal thing, making an acceptance speech.

I missed that one, I guess.

I actually saw that. It was MOST confusing. The part that screwed it all up had to be giving him an "award" for his bday. Who gets an award for their bday? And then Britney's "artist of the millenium" comment didn't help much either. I say it was MTV and Britney who caused the fumble.
