Mary K. Letourneau

Is anyone following this Mary K. Letourneau thing? Gosh, besides feeling sorry for the boy/student of hers, I feel terrible for her kids. All 6 of them. Not only do they have to put up with the twisted weirdnesses of their mother, but the media is involved, making everything 100 times worse.

That lady just looks nutty. I can't find the picture of her from years ago with the student, but she looks awfully insane/scary, like some character out of a movie. One of those perfecty sweet looking robot people that are evil to the core. Surely they will make some mini-series out of this story. But who will play her? Calista Flockheart?

Comments

The movie was made when it happened and Letourneau was played by penolope ann miller. I watched it. It pissed me off. The movie made her out to be misunderstood and just in love. Grown women do no fall in love with 12 year old boys. Sorry.

Yeah and at the end of the movie it even had her jail address so you could write and support her. It was freaky. I feel for her first family I mean they left the country it hurt them that bad.

I met Mary K's father and mother on several occasions. I know one of her brothers and his family, and have watched their children grow up. I can tell you that they are the kind of people that are different in any number of ways (different is not necessairly a bad thing so don't get me wrong), even a casual observer would notice their lack of rules and discipline within the family. Some people in the community would say "oh, they are from California" as if that explained anything. In following Mary Kay's story I have been struck by the idea that there is a strong genetic predisposition in this family towards high intelligence, wild problematic behaviour in their youth, and the idea that they are somehow superior. Whatever the case, she does have a mental disorder. When it comes to the husband I am not so sympathetic. He was never committed to his marriage and participated in any number of infidelities long before Mary K's. So do not waste any sympathy on him. Their children are the victims of this train wreck marriage. This is typical of a marriage gone bad, the innocent are damaged by something not at all within their control.

Mary K. Letourneau is the typical White trash female that exists in our society because of hollywood and the media. If the media and hollywood did not glorify sex, we would not see this type of behavior!

Many people have condemned Mary K on a horrified reaction to the facts of the case. They have countered with vile, gutter expressions which serve little purpose. The causes and effects in this case are far deeper than the lurid details in the press. Society is usually hypocritical,at best, and until someone has the public looking into their very soul, they cant have any idea of where shes at. There is such a thing as fate and Mary K was a doomed person from the time she met the boy in this matter. People are calling for her to account in an iincident for which there is no account. The Duke of Windsor,in England, gave up his throne for the love of a divorced woman. You may say that the two cases are not the same, but they have some of the same factors which lead people to make rash and dangerous decisions in a fleeting instant, often leading to disaster. Animal instincts are the most powerfull of all becuse without desire and action, mankind would become extinct. I believe that the basic forces of nature took command in this instance and nothing or no one could prevent it by any of the usual means. I wish them both much luck
