July 2, 2005The ChosenRelationships, Judaism, human emotions... A story of two Jewish boys and their fathers and the paths that both of their lives are taking. One, Danny, is chosen to be a tzaddik like his father. I won't go into it much more than that because I don't want to spoil it if you haven't read it. This is the second book I've read by Potok, who I really like as an author. The complex story is so simply written, yet the characters are very alive and memorable. I foudn this a very interesting, thought-provoking book and plan to read the sequel, The Promise I would definitely reccomend this book. It is well-written, timeless story.
