Newsflash

Newsflash!! To my 9 year old son: Guess what? It is a proven fact that you don't have to question every thing I tell you. No, really. I'm not kidding. I saw it on the news, and then I did a little research on it (just to make sure, you know), and it is unanimous.

I was a little surprised myself, I'll admit. Because, you know, us adults don't know everything. But, you can maybe question 10% of what I say, and a majority of that 10% would be opinions, anyway, so that's okay to question. But the remaining 90% is probably true.

Like when it's 11:29 and I say: "Let your cut air out for 10 minutes." It's fine if I tell you to sit still until 11:40. Yes. It's OK. Maybe it will be slightly more than the allotted 10 minutes that I quoted you, but believe me. It will be ALRIGHT.

Comments

Oh, I can soooo relate to this one! Half the time I tell my daughter (10 yrs old too!) something, she responds with "are you sure?" to which I usually say "Ya know, if I wasn't sure, I probably wouldnt have told you, now would I?!?!?"

It gets so frustrating...

Oh, and since when did it become OK to tell your parents "No" when they ask you to do something?!!?! I know that would never fly when I was kid, but somehow Kayleigh thinks it is perfectly acceptable - no matter our response!

::sigh:: The Joys Of ParentHood!

My son is already doing this questioning authority thing at 5 years old! Why Mom? Are you sure? How come? Aaaaa! beacuse I said so, that's why! That's more than enough to persuade you that yes, your mother is right and not talking out of her bunghole! lol! Kids are too much!
